I personally fell in love with yoga around 10 years ago, when I walked away from a class realising that there was nothing else in my life that made me feel such a deep level of inner calm and peace, yet also so alive and energised at the same time!

> Do you want to start practicing yoga but feel overwhelmed with how to get started?
> Do you want to feel confident that you know what yoga is, how to practise safely, and adapt the practice to your needs and wants?
> Would you like to learn yoga from a traditional and holistic perspective with a focus on mindful movement rather than just the exercise element?
> Would you like to learn about the fundamentals of yoga in a small, safe group setting with real-time support?
Overview:
My approach to teaching yoga is authentic, gentle, nurturing, and fun. The style of yoga I am offering in this course will be mainly Vinyasa (mindful movements coordinated with the breath) with some static holds from a classical Hatha yoga perspective.
Each session in this course is a mix of information, detailed break down of postures, a guided yoga practice, and question time. It will provide you with a foundation of what yoga is, a safe functional approach to physical practice, and a brief introduction to meditation & yogic breathing exercises.
Topics include: yoga history, philosophy, the 8 limbs of yoga, guidelines for a safe practice, props, meditation, mindfulness, breath awareness, how to focus the mind, physical health through yoga, and of course over 25 poses.
Who is it for:
Anyone who is either completely new to yoga or relatively new in the sense that perhaps you have only recently started attending classes. You DO NOT need to be flexible, fit, or hyper-mobile to practice yoga. Regardless of whether you have injuries or health conditions, this course suits anyone open to trying!
Each course is run with a small group only (no more than 8 participants). This allows me to provide personalised one-on-one guidance of how to adapt your practice to suit your needs, wants, and body. For example, if you have a certain health challenge or injury, as best I can, I will offer specific modifications for you.
As a trauma & mental health-informed teacher this course will be presented in a way that is safe, inclusive, and accessible to all.

These are personalised sessions tailored specifically to your needs and preferences at a time that suits you. There are two options available: Movement-focused Private Yoga sessions or Yoga for Anxiety sessions (read more here).
These 60-minute one to one sessions focus on mindful movement at a pace you like (slow & static or faster flowing sequences). The session will be tailored to your individual needs and preferences to energise, harmonise, and improve your physical wellness.
Sessions are suitable for both those new to yoga and more experienced students. One-to-one sessions are great for anyone wanting more extensive guidance than a group class can offer, anyone recovery from an injury or managing a chronic condition, those who find group classes unsuitable, or anyone wanting flexibility to fit yoga into their schedule.
You can choose what you would like the focus of each session to be, for example: general exercise, strengthening, enhancing flexibility, or using movement as a way to manage stress, to name a few. Elements of mindfulness and breathing techniques can be included to these sessions, however the focus is primarily on yoga movement.
