I personally fell in love with yoga around 10 years ago, when I walked away from a class realising that there was nothing else in my life that made me feel such a deep level of inner calm and peace, yet also so alive and energised at the same time!

Overview:
My approach to teaching yoga is authentic, gentle, nurturing, and fun. The style of yoga I am offering in this course will be mainly Hatha (more static-held poses) as well as some elements of Vinyasa (dynamic movements with the breath) from a classical holistic perspective.
Each session in this course is a mix of information, detailed break down of postures, a guided yoga practice, and question time. It will provide you with a foundation of what yoga is, a safe functional approach to physical practice, and a brief introduction to meditation & yogic breathing exercises.
Topics include: yoga history, philosophy, the 8 limbs of yoga, guidelines for a safe practice, props, meditation, mindfulness, breath awareness, how to focus the mind, the power of stillness, and of course over 30 poses.
Who is it for:
Anyone who is either completely new to yoga or relatively new in the sense that perhaps you have only recently started attending classes. You DO NOT need to be flexible, fit, or hyper-mobile to practice yoga. Regardless of whether you have injuries or health conditions, this course suits anyone open to trying!
Each course is run with a small group only (no more than 8 participants). This allows me to provide personalised one-on-one guidance of how to adapt your practice to suit your needs, wants, and body. For example, if you have a certain health challenge or injury, as best I can, I will offer specific modifications for you.
As a trauma & mental health-informed teacher this course will be presented in a way that is safe, inclusive, and accessible to all.
